Pleasant Dale Park District
Flagg Creek Museum & Robert Vial House

Flagg Creek Museum
The Flagg Creek Museum is located on the Walker Park property (7425 S. Wolf Rd., Burr Ridge). The Museum is an excellent source of early area history. There is collected oral history from local families. Photographs, documents and family artifacts enrich the collection.

Robert Vial House
Robert Vial, the third son of Joseph Vial, an early settler in the Flagg Creek area, built the home in 1856. The house was originally located on Plainfield Road on what is now the Timber Trails Golf Course. In 1989, the house was relocated to its present location in Pleasant Dale Park District’s Walker Park (7425 S. Wolf Rd., Burr Ridge). Much of the restoration of this house has been due to the volunteer efforts of the Flagg Creek Historical Society. The Vial House is architecturally unique and incorporates both the Greek Revival and Italianate styles.

Flagg Creek Historical Society
The Flagg Creek Historical Society, an affiliate group of the Pleasant Dale Park District, was founded in 1976 to help preserve the past for the future. This volunteer group assists the Park District with on-going improvements to the Robert Vial House, Museum exhibits at the Flagg Creek Museum and Robert Vial House and conducts monthly meetings.
